Routt County Food Counter Attendant in Hayden, Colorado
SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs customer service and food and/or beverage preparation for guests at a short-order counter or similar fast food setting at the Yampa Valley Regional Airport (YVRA); takes drink and food orders from guests; prepares hot and cold beverages as well as simple food items; collects and receives guest payments; cleans and stocks food service and other areas, and performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs customer service and basic food and/or beverage preparation to guests at a counter or similar food-to-go setting; complies with the health department and other governmental agency regulations. Greets and welcomes guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Answers guests questions about available food and beverage options; takes guest food and/or beverage orders and enters orders in a point-of-sale system that relays orders for preparation of the food/beverages. Collects and receives guest payments using a cash register and credit card processing equipment; counts and collects money; provides accurate change to guests; completes required reports regarding sales. Prepares hot and cold beverages as well as simple food items; assists with preparing and stocking food case items such as cookies, sandwiches, and salads. Monitors the readiness of food and drink orders and serves to guests in a timely matter. Clears and cleans dining tables; wipes and disinfects working areas and other surfaces. Ensures that counter stations remain stocked before and after meal periods. Performs general cleaning tasks; sweeps and mops floors; removes and secures trash in dumpsters; cleans and stocksrestrooms. Assists with washing and putting away dishes; assists with putting away food and drink from foodservice trucks; keepsstorage areas clean and organized. Monitors food preparation equipment, coolers, and freezers from proper operation; notifies the supervisor of any problems. Restocks supplies from the storeroom, including cups, straws, to-go boxes, napkins, and condiments. Busses and cleans guest tables; cleans food service and preparation areas; cleans and stocks restrooms. May assist with routine cooking tasks as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year of food-related customer service experience is required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Valid Colorado Driver's License may be required to operate a County vehicle. Must possess an appropriate Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certificate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Depending on the assignment, may be required to meet age requirements in order to mix, pour and/or serve alcoholic beverages.
