Your Opportunity

Your primary role as an Interior Designer is to interpret and translate the needs and desires of a client as well as any architectural direction set forth into cohesive interior design solution. This process may involve production of drawings (2D/3D), and written material to develop and support the conceptual direction of interior design, and FFE. You will often be required to present your ideas in formal and informal settings, as well as be receptive and responsive to constructive feedback.

Our Interior Designers are expected to work collaboratively with their team – including architectural designers, building systems engineers, and any other trades included in the scope of work - conceptualizing, developing, and documenting varying aspects of interior design of a project, including but not limited to space planning, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications and FFE.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in research of concept, benchmarks, materials, and precedents.

  • Assist in material and furniture selections, sustainability research, space planning and communication with product representatives.

  • Assist the Lead Designer with client interviews and data processing to create accurate and thoughtful design programs.

  • Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacency studies in coordination with building program.

  • To check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule outlined by Project Manager.

  • To participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of interior design document production.

  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficiency in Revit is required. Experience with Enscape is a plus.

  • Proficiency in the most recent design software (Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, etc.) is required.

  • Strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written/graphic).

  • Ability to manage deliverables at different phases of projects including construction documents and meeting client expectations.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere as well as across offices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year CIDA accredited Interior Design program (or work experience equivalent).

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience.

  • Working towards NCIDQ.

  • Working towards or holding LEED AP/Associate certification a plus.

  • Science and Technology and Workplace sector experience a strong plus.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $75,500.00 - $109,400.00 (NYC location only)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
