This is a Quality Assurance Supervisor (Full-Time/2nd Shift) position in Hattiesburg, MS.

Job Summary: Responsible for managing, developing, and implementing operational procedures for the QA department, provides QA employees with proper training, and assures that all products and packages are produced within Wis-Pak and parent company specifications. The Quality Assurance Supervisor also serves as a member of the Food Safety/Food Defense Teams. Fills in for QA Manager as needed. Manages and trains all department personnel and assigns work schedules for the department. Maintains that all procedures, records, and department policies are accurate and up to date. Understands quality specifications, water treatment functions, and chemical handling. Maintains adequate inventories of lab supplies, water treatment supplies, sanitation chemicals and product ingredients. Maintains calibration records and upgrades testing equipment as necessary. Participates on cross-functional project teams to improve productivity, methods, food safety, processes, and quality. Ensures the compliance of all plant sanitation requirements. Schedules annual PMs for lab equipment. Works with QA Manager to set up and qualify new flavors. Investigates batching and/or quality issues. Oversees quality hold program.
Qualifications: A minimum high school education (college courses helpful) with emphasis in math, physics, and chemistry. Possess good problem-solving skills in math and science. A background in Quality Assurance is preferred. Must be able to read and write legibly. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company polices and applicable laws. Strong working knowledge of personal computing, including software products such as Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, vendors, shareholders/customers, and other employees of the organization.
