This position is for a Part-Time/Temporary Campus Police Administrative Assistant with a company location in Perkinston, MS.

Job Description: The PART TIME/TEMPORARY Campus Police Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Chief of Police/Assistant Chief of Police and serves as the secondary point of contact in the Campus Police Department for all incoming non-emergency lines and walk-in traffic. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance institutional traditions and academic integrity with the individual needs of the students, faculty, and Campus Police Officers. In addition, the successful candidate will understand the responsibility to act per guidelines set by the Family Education Right to Privacy Act (FERPA); and exhibit the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of Law Enforcement Agencies, administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as receptionist in the Campus Police Department, directing non-emergency phone calls and walk-in traffic to the appropriate personnel or department effectively and efficiently. Greet and provide service as needed to customers (students, employees, and general inquiries). Manage the input of citations and traffic tickets in ARMS Go Live in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain a log of all calls for service related to Campus Police. Monitor Campus Police cameras for suspicious activity. Assist in supervising student workers assigned to the Campus Police Department. Participate in professional/staff development designed to enhance job skills. Be an effective member of the Business Services team by maintaining an effective working relationship with campus personnel, students, and the community. Maintain inventory of department equipment. Issue uniforms and maintain uniform inventory. Maintain an accurate and complete filing system. Upgrade skill level and performance through staff development. Prepare professional reports and memos, as assigned. Stay abreast of and adhere to college and campus policies and procedures. Assist in general office functions, sharing duties with other staff personnel. Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrative Assistant/Dispatch Supervisor, Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police and the Dean of Business Services.

Qualifications:

Mandatory: Minimum of three years of Administrative Assistant experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Customer Service experience, including use of computer and Microsoft Office programs.

Desirable: Experience with Banner or other administrative software. Experience working with college students in a community college setting.
