This is a Fleet Mechanic position located in Hattiesburg, MS.

Summary: The Fleet Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties.

Duties and Responsibilities Include: Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment. Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components. Perform emergency roadside services as needed. Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory.   Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system. Assist team members with troubleshooting & repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements and Qualifications Include: Minimum age of 18 years old. Class A CDL preferred. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies. Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines. Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets. Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology. Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment. Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work. Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology.   Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time. Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment. Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs. Repeated exposure to chemicals, weather, and noticeability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork.
