Job Summary

Adjunct faculty members facilitate students’ achievement of course objectives and prepare college students to matriculate through the undergraduate program.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Medical Laboratory Science lecture/lab as a generalist.

  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and corresponding graduate-level courses.

  • Be prepared to teach both on-campus and online course selections.

  • Assist students with course material as necessary, potentially outside of class time.

  • Prepare and submit syllabi, grades, and other required course documentation in a timely manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in a natural science or closely related field from an accredited college or university. 18 hours of graduate level coursework in medical laboratory science. ASCP certification as a medical laboratory scientist. Uphold the mission and values of USM, College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Biological, Environmental, and Earth Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching, mentoring and service experience at a university level. Experience with Canvas technology.
