ITW Electrostatics, a division of Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW), part of Test, Measurement and Electronics segment is industry leading manufacturer and designer of static control devices for equipment makers and end users. Simco Ion, an ITW company, is looking to add an Accounting/ FP&A Manager to join our team of professionals. As the Accounting/FP&A Manager, your responsibilities will be to supervise and monitor the day-to-day accounting tasks and activities and will deliver timely and accurate financial statements. The Accounting/ FP&A Manager's responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. The Accounting/ FP&A Manager will also be responsible for supporting our Technology Business Unit with all FP&A activities and reporting requirements to meet our monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements. The Accounting/FP&A Manager will be accountable for driving team performance, and supporting the growth of our individual contributors and will report to the Controller.

Daily Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and end-year process

  • Accounts payable/receivable

  • Cash receipts

  • General ledger

  • Payroll and utilities

  • Forecasting and budgeting

  • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis

  • Capital assets reconciliations

  • Check runs and daily cash activities

  • Fixed asset activity and reconciliations

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

  • Coordinate and complete audits

  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements

  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Meet financial accounting objectives

  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

Required Skills to be Successful:

  • Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or FP&A Manager.

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.

  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to direct and supervise.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.

  • Good time-management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or MBA preferred.

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.

  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.

  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.

  • Knowledge of employee relationship-building and performance-management techniques.

  • Advanced MS Office, and Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
