Project Overview:

This position is for Bechtel I&D's DevSecOps team. DevSecOps takes care of all the automated pipelines for software and some infrastructure components deployed on Azure and On prem for all Bechtel applications.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be a senior team member within the DevSecOps team, contributing and also sometimes eading DevSecOps efforts and initiatives. The DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for creation of infrastructure for deployment of container-based apps in Azure. Establishes and coordinates with developers to create CI CD Pipelines for deployment of containers into various Azure technologies like into AKS using Helm charts, App services, Function app and the associated infrastructure using Terraform, Azure PowerShell and Azure CLI. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, confidence and a team player to work along with multiple IT teams. He/she should be a self-starter and take ownership of the work being performed. Provides regular and periodic status updates and other metrics to the stakeholders and the management. Work according to the company standards, policies and procedures with high ethical compliance. Devises new approaches to problems encountered to provide solutions to the customer. Supports discipline in the performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent judgment. Demonstrates a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting issues

Major Responsibilities:

• Automates deployments and deploys scripts for building code, robust deployment, rollback, and for running automated unit tests, regression tests, and security tests.

• Automates release of Application upgrades and Database upgrades for automated creation/updates of schema, and automated seed data population.

• Runs static and dynamic security scans.

• Runs SCA security scans to find security vulnerabilities in Open-Source code and fixes the vulnerabilities.

• Conducts service account maintenance to include password renewal/retrieval from the password vault and updates the impacted systems.

• Manage software versioning system, guides development teams on best practices.

• Performs security scanning and certification of applications as part of the release process.

• Recommends solutions to fix security vulnerabilities.

• Creates and troubleshoots CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code pipelines and deployment issues.

• Conducts team induction and product/ technical trainings.

• Builds IAC (Infrastructure as code) scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning in cloud.

• Works with Cloud Architecture and Development teams to conducts POCs for developing new DevOps solutions.

• Manages container orchestration and management tools, creates pipelines to deploy applications of container-based applications.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 7 - 10 years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least 7 years of experience in the field of DevSecOps/ DevOps.

• Proficient in writing Terraform code to create Infrastructure in Azure.

• Proficient in writing Helm charts to deploy services into AKS.

• Proficiency in creating CI CD Pipelines for deployment of container based apps into various Azure services like AKS using helm charts, App Services and Function app etc. using Terraform, Azure PowerShell and Azure CLI.

• Excellent hands on knowledge of Docker, Azure Kubernetes services (AKS), Kubernetes, Azure App services, Function Apps etc.

• Good scripting knowledge of PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, YAML , Helm charts to deploy pods into AKS.

• Scripting knowledge for building code in NodeJs, React, Java, .Net and mobile applications.

• Integrating and running automated unit tests, regression tests and security scans in pipelines.

• Creation of CI CD Pipelines in Azure DevOps.

• Strong knowledge of Version control software (GIT), branching techniques, artifacts management, administration and support (Azure Devops and GitHub).

• Knowledge of package/artifact management systems like Azure Artifacts or JFrog.

• Good knowledge of Application Security (like OWASP top 10).

• Knowledge of enterprise grade application security scanning tools for doing SAST, DAST, Open-source package scans.

• Strong problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Personal Skills: The candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and be team oriented. Innovative and assertive in proposing/implementing new ideas/processes. Highly motivated and self-starting, should have proactive approach to resolving issues and working with limited supervision. Ability to quickly learn new technology and implement it effectively.
