The Role
As a Sr Lead Security Network Architect, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's network infrastructure. Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architectures to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities. Your extensive knowledge of network security technologies, best practices, and industry standards will be critical in formulating robust security strategies and ensuring a secure network environment for the organization.
The Main Responsibilities
Network Security Architecture Design:
Develop and sustain comprehensive network security architecture, which includes the design of secure network topologies, segmentation, and access control mechanisms.
Assess and select appropriate security technologies, solutions, and protocols to meet organizational security requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and application developers, to integrate security controls seamlessly into the network infrastructure.
Security Policy Development and Implementation:
Define network security policies, standards, and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
Implement and enforce network security policies across the organization, ensuring consistent adherence to established security guidelines and controls.
Regularly review and update security policies to address emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and evolving business requirements.
Threat Assessment and Risk Management:
Conduct thorough assessments of network security risks and vulnerabilities using advanced tools and techniques to identify potential weaknesses.
Provide expert analysis of security threats and incidents and develop effective response strategies to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with the organization's risk management team to incorporate network security controls into the overall risk management framework.
Security Infrastructure Implementation:
Recommend network security infrastructure components, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), and secure gateways.
Ensure proper configuration and tuning of security devices, ensuring alignment with the organization's security policies and objectives.
Monitor and analyze network traffic patterns and security events to detect and respond to potential security breaches.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Extensive experience (8+ years) in network security architecture design and implementation.
Profound knowledge of network security technologies, protocols, and best practices, such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, authentication protocols, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
Strong understanding of network protocols and architectures, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network segmentation.
Proficiency in network security assessment and penetration testing techniques.
Experience with security incident response and incident management processes.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., CMMC, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) and their implications for network security.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex security risks and develop effective solutions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or CCIE Security, are highly desirable.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
