Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of CF clinic exercising leadership, organization, communication, fiscal responsibility, patient and staff education, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Collaborates with patients as well as outpatient and inpatient CF team members to ensure adherence to CFF guidelines to provide a safe environment fostering a positive patient experience.* * * *Job Responsibilities: Performs all functions of a CF Clinical coordinator and is recognized as a clinical expert/resource in all aspects of respiratory CF care. Bridges the communication gap between outpatient and inpatient CF care, between other specialists involved in CF care, and between CF centers. Coordinates performance improvement initiatives to address identified respiratory and health care team goals, and outcomes and integrates them throughout the team, department, and multidisciplinary team. Monitors day-to-day activities of assigned colleagues to ensure quality, patient service and/or customer service objectives are achieved; initiates corrective action as instructed. Collaborates with leadership team in preparation of yearly budget in addition to monitoring and maintaining budget set. Acts as respiratory team supervisor, identifying performance opportunities and goals for professional growth, develops team members by participating in performance partnership process providing constructive feedback, input and mentoring. Communicates and explains policies and procedures to assigned colleagues. Supervises day-to-day activities in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Monitoring colleague performance improvement and education, committee membership, and special projects in collaboration with self-managed work teams and department manager. Integrates performance opportunities and goals within the department, health care team and collaborative management teams to continually improve the quality of patient care. Functions as a liaison between CFF and CF clinic. Facilitates requirements of yearly preparation of deliverables required for the CFF grant. Collaborates with CF team on the expected criteria for maintaining the expected requirements for program accreditation. Supervises day-to-day activities of assigned colleagues to achieve performance goals in support of the operating plan. Assigns, reviews, and modifies assigned work tasks. Ensures that protocols and work rules are upheld and followed in day-to-day operations. Teach, coach and mentor colleagues; provide colleagues with tools and processes to work more effectively and efficiently. Provides input to administrative personnel actions for assigned colleagues. Serves as liaison to health care teams and all respiratory-related patient care issues and care plans, facilitates the flow of information from collaborative management teams, healthcare teams, and committees to members of self-directed work teams. Works on problems or projects of moderate scope which affect the area of operation as a whole. Maintains department orientation and education records. Assesses the educational needs of the department and plans/conducts training to meet those needs. Develops and administers competencies for new colleague orientation, specialty care orientation, annual colleague evaluation, policies, procedures, and equipment; recommends changes in content based on needs assessment, changes in procedures and equipment, changes in regulatory standards, and changes in medical practice. Oversee and coordinate respiratory staff, students, nursing staff, resident clinic observation days and CF education. * Baccalaureate Degree preferred (Must obtain within 3 years hired into the role),* * Master of Science degree preferred. * Requires: 3-5 years of experience working as RRT and advanced knowledge obtained through additional training and certifications. *Licensure, Certification, Registration * Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) granted by The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) * Valid State of Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license. * Active member of the American Association of Respiratory Care * Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BLS) * Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) * Obtain and keep current with i-STAT validation * Current Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) certification by The National Board for Respiratory Care * Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred* * Asthma Educator Certification (AE-C) preferred* * Pulmonary Disease Educator certification preferred* * Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification preferred* * Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) Specialist preferred /As an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action employer, the organization will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant’s race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and veteran or disability status./ // // We take great care of careers.
