DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Traffic Signals Asset Management Intern, you will join the Bureau of Operations to assist with the Traffic Signal Asset Management System (TSAMS), which is the sole system for tracking traffic signals and Intelligent System Systems (ITS) throughout the Commonwealth. You will be responsible for analyzing data for traffic signal systems and ITS, entering it into TSAMS,  and meeting with field offices to evaluate data and plan for capturing of missing data.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025 Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Some positions may require travel Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Compensation is credit based: Less than 90 credits - $20.76 Over 90 credits - $21.64 You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSStudents who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements: Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester. In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher) Must be at least 18 years of age Special Requirement: Certain positions require verification of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Majors: Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
