The Department of Corrections, Bureau of Community Corrections is seeking a dedicated, creative, and well-organized individual to join our team as a Social Worker 2. In this position, you will work with State Correctional Institutions, Bureau of Community Corrections (BCC), and parole staff to coordinate services such as psychosocial counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and primary care appointments for individuals suffering from serious mental illness, medical conditions, and substance-use disorder, particularly opioid-use disorder. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will research and analyze records and files on all new receptions, develop an individualized treatment plan with the re-entrant, maintain a presence at Alcohol and Other Drug Coalition facilities and BCC mental health facilities and serve as an active member of the treatment team. You will comply with Pennsylvania's continuity of care policy and establish contact with single county authorities and community mental health centers. The Department of Corrections also provides additional training designated to improve counseling skills and techniques and the ability to perform your overall duties more effectively. Work Hours and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor's degree in social work or social welfare; or A master's degree in social work or social welfare. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirements: All employees in the Department of Corrections must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.
