Do you want to gain hands-on experience at Pennsylvania's Office of the Governor by applying for an internship with the Research Department for the Fall 2024 Semester? This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated research team, tracking key performance indicators, collaborating with various departments, and preparing for external meetings and events. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Research Intern, you will have the opportunity to acquire valuable skills in conducting research and summarizing press coverage related to the Governor's achievements and priorities. You will also be responsible for monitoring significant legislation as it moves through the legislative system. Furthermore, you will delve into the backgrounds of potential endorsers for press briefings, external functions, social media posts, and more. Working closely with the Research Associate, you will assist in addressing research requests from various departments and monitoring essential performance metrics for the Governor's agenda.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Part-time internship, 20 hours per week, that will run from August 2024 through December 2024. Work hours are flexible within the hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Note: You may have the option to work in-person or hybrid, depending on the needs of both the intern and the office. Some level of reporting in-person is required. Internship Requirements: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher). Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university. Additional Requirements:

You must be passionate about state government, research, and public service. You must be detail-oriented with a curiosity and desire to learn. You must have strong written and oral communication skills. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Possess a degree or be pursuing a degree in political science, history, economics, journalism, pre-law, or a similar, research-heavy degree program Prior work or internship experience with a state, local, or federal government or agency; campaigns; journalism; public advocacy; or policy research How to Apply:
