Summary:

The Part-Time Medication Administration Training Program Instructor position is a grant-funded position and will primarily provide virtual and in-person instruction for the Medication Administration Trainer classes. Under general supervision, this instructor will teach two to six classes per month. Overall training needs are disclosed well in advance of the training dates.  The team manager, in cooperation with the instructors, finalizes the training schedule. This position requires flexibility because training dates vary from month to month according to the agreed upon training schedule. Training via an in-person format is limited. Much of the required training is offered virtually. However, this instructor must be available for possible overnight travel around Pennsylvania including travel to locations that may not be accessible by public transportation.

This instructor may be asked to participate in campus staff, team, or department meetings, contribute to the development of training and instruction materials, or assist with technical assistance questions from administrators or trainer candidates filtered through the Program Helpdesk.  This instructor may be asked to provide training or support for additional courses in other Temple University Harrisburg programs such as the 100 Hour Personal Care Home Administrator Course and may be asked to perform other duties as assigned. The instructor will work up to approximately 80 hours per month. This is a grant funded position.

Required Education & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in medical training and/or instruction. Must hold a current Pennsylvania license as a licensed health care professional: Registered Nurse, Registered Pharmacist, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Physician's Assistant. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Excellent technology skills using personal computers and related computer and office software. Strong written and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on excellent customer service to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in diverse communities. Is driven to reach the goals established by a program(s). Displays enthusiasm for the program and can actively engage others in it. Ability to lead or facilitatetrainings in an engaging and effective manner. Ability to assess and provide feedback to class participants. Must have a reliable vehicle, valid Pennsylvania driver's license, and up-to-date registration and insurance. Ability to travel to training sites that might not be accessible by public transportation throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Ability to travel overnight and spend - if needed - multiple days at various locations in the state. Ability to:

*compile information and prepare reports

*maintainaccurate records and databases

*communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

*organize resources and establish priorities

*analyze and solve problems

*make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

*create, compose, and edit written materials

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
