Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of Health Equity Policy Intern (College) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

As an Office of Health Equity Policy Intern, you will will have the opportunity to develop policy-based solutions for addressing health disparities in Pennsylvania. We are seeking master's degree students or recent master's degree graduates who have strong skills in data analysis and communication. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this internship, you will develop a public health policy research project that will culminate in a policy brief. You will be tasked with identifying health disparities and public health issues that can be addressed by policy. Looking through a health equity lens, you will identify the needs of a disparate population in Pennsylvania and create potential policy solutions. This enlightening internship will help you understand how the needs of rural Pennsylvanian communities can be addressed from policy rooted in health equity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: This is a part-time internship from fall 2024 through fall 2025. Work hours are flexible with a maximum of 20 hours per week. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be expected to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg as needed or as directed by your supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a master's level program. You must be in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher). You must hold Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

Additional Requirements: School credit will be determined by your college or university. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Current enrollment in a graduate degree program with a major in Environmental Sciences, Behavioral Health Counseling, Human Development and Counseling, Health Sciences, Health Services Administration, Nutrition & Foods, Global Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Global Public Health, Health Data Analysis, or Public Health
