The Department of Labor & Industry is looking for a Management Technician to join our Bureau of Workers' Compensation - Self Insurance Division. This position serves as a group self-insurance analyst, performing administrative and technical assignments associated with the compilation of data and preparation of notices relating to annual assessments collected by the Bureau. If you have the ability to make procedural determinations based on policy and program guidelines and regulations, we want you on our team!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Management Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with activities relating to the calculation and issuance of annual assessments payable by insurance carriers and self-insured employers under the Workers' Compensation Act. Work includes evaluating reasonableness and accuracy of submitted data as well as maintaining the database used for the calculation and issuance of assessments. Effective communication is key as you will be corresponding with the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau to provide information relating to the insurance coverage of employers affiliated with a self-insurance program and with the Bureau's program analyst regarding updates and revisions to the division's records retention schedule. Additional responsibilities include acting as primary contact for active group funds and self-insurers, assisting staff actuaries in the collection and compilation of data, as well as providing training and assistance to staff ensuring adherence to procedures and correctness of technical matters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
