Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Lottery Sales Representative (District Lottery Representative) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4464163 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Lottery is seeking an experienced, energetic sales professional to serve a specific sales territory within the Westmoreland County area.

As a Lottery Sales Representative, you will provide product, guidance, and support to existing retailers while actively working with them to increase their sales.  You will also use your sales skills to recruit new retailers, educate them on the benefits of joining our retailer network, and provide strategies that will help them succeed.  Best of all, you'll be working for one of the most-respected brands in Pennsylvania and on behalf of a very important mission: to generate funding to benefit older Pennsylvanians.  There is great satisfaction that comes from knowing that your work makes a significant and lasting difference in the lives of others.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Lottery Sales Representative, you will read and interpret sales data, communicate effectively and professionally with business owners and customers regarding the value of Lottery products, and provide detailed information surrounding procedures and products.  This position is responsible for coordinating promotions for new games and products and determining the effectiveness of various marketing techniques.  Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as you will network, interact, and engage players at retailer events and collaborate with other sales representatives.  Additional duties include navigating a web-based portal and maintaining proficiency in the utilization of PCs and electronic tablets to efficiently complete tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.  Work hours will change to 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM at least 1 week per month to maintain operational efficiency and maximize service to the Lottery and the public. This position is home headquartered, however you would be expected to report to the assigned area office on a weekly basis. Overtime may be required on a limited basis. You must be able to work and drive in all types of weather conditions. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in progressively responsible sales or marketing work; or Any equivalent experience and training.

Necessary Special Requirement: You must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.

Additional Requirements: You must abide by the prohibition guidelines and refrain from gambling in Pennsylvania casinos, or any casino outside of Pennsylvania with the same owners. This position will travel to cover Westmoreland County.  You must reside in one of the following zip codes within Westmoreland County: 15601, 15619, 15662, 15620, 15624, 15627, 15671, 15650, 15695, 15693, 15638, 15670, 15672, 15676, 15696, or 15697.  Relocation is not an option. You must possess at least four years of sales experience. You must possess at least four years of customer service experience in a sales environment. You must be able to lift/carry up to 40 pounds. You must be available to work the required work schedule of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.  There will be at least once per month where the work hours will change to 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM for one week. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
