As a Legal Assistant 2, you become a key part of our efficient and effective team by performing a full range of legal assistant duties. In this position, you will assist your supervisor with training legal assistant team members on new or updated processes, review petitions to determine if all criteria have been met for reinstatement from Professional Health Monitoring (PHMP) programs, and draft routine correspondence and memos. The documents you prepare will be regarding case filings, outstanding penalties, press releases, paid legal notices, and a variety of other case related matters based on your knowledge and understanding of specific legal cases.

Communication is a key aspect of daily operations within the office. Your assistance to our attorneys will include retrieving case information, filings, and preparing case files for hearings and during appellate proceedings. You will also have the opportunity to provide hearing and trial support by assembling and preparing exhibits, preparing certified records and other filings for cases on appeal to Commonwealth Court, and assisting attorneys with use of the PACFile system to submit filings. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after six months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Legal Assistant 1; or Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
