DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a paid high school intern with the Office of Community Engagement, you will have an opportunity to meet and interact with Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Command Staff to gain an understanding of their roles and areas of responsibility.  You'll also have an opportunity to tour PSP Department Headquarters, PSP Academy, Troop H's Harrisburg Station, and the Dauphin County Courthouse.  Duties of this position include researching strategies and communications in developing community outreach initiatives, assisting with training development, attend meetings and events deemed relevant to PSP's policy of enhancing community relations, and making recommendations on what to include and how to present a better community outreach program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Spring 2025 Internship

If you are selected for this position, you will work directly with your workplace supervisor to determine a work schedule that coordinates with your school schedule. Students will be responsible for their own transportation, parking, and related costs unless otherwise noted. Telework: This position does not offer telework. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age. You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2024 - 2025 school year. Additional Requirements:

Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.

By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position. Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements:

You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file. How to Apply:
