Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Game Bird Supervisor (Wildlife Biologist 3) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Game Bird Supervisor, you will conduct professional wildlife management work as the chief of the Game Birds Section in the Bureau of Wildlife Management.  This position oversees the functionality and efficiency of the Game Birds Section and directs the responsibilities of professional wildlife biologists and technical staff involved in the research, monitoring, population modeling, population management, outreach, human dimensions, and technical assistance activities of the agency's game bird management programs.

Within this role, you will manage and coordinate statewide research, monitoring, population modeling, population management, outreach, human dimensions, communications and technical assistance elements of the agency management programs for resident and migratory game birds (wild turkey, ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail, waterfowl, ruffed grouse, American woodcock, mourning dove, and webless migratory game birds).  You will also plan, organize, and assign work to subordinate biologists within the Game Bird Section.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Wildlife Biologist 2 (commonwealth title); or

Four years of technical wildlife research and evaluation experience and three years of professional experience in wildlife management research, and thirty-six college credits in wildlife management, wildlife biology, animal or plant ecology, zoology, botany, or a closely related field, and six college credits in statistics or biometry; or

Three years of professional experience in wildlife management research, and a bachelor's degree that includes thirty-six college credits in wildlife management, wildlife biology, animal or plant ecology, zoology, botany, or a closely related field, and six college credits in statistics or biometry; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes thirty-six college credits in wildlife management, wildlife biology, animal or plant ecology, zoology, botany, or a closely related field, and six college credits in statistics or biometry.

Special Requirements:

You must possess an active motor vehicle license.

Other Requirements:
