DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Fingerprint Technician Supervisor, you will oversee the processing of fingerprints and organize the Fingerprint Unit workflow per Pennsylvania State Police Guidelines for Mandatory Fingerprinting, Preparation of Pennsylvania State Police Fingerprints and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's standards to assure the unit's efficiency in meeting the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository's goals and objectives in the accurate dissemination of criminal history to agencies within the criminal justice system to maintain public and law enforcement safety.

In this role, you must possess knowledge of the Pennsylvania Crime codes and Penal codes, Vehicle codes, Pharmacy Code, Liquor Code and Cosmetic Drugs Act codes as it relates to Live Scan device/SCN mandatory fields information. You will provide guidance and instruction to local and state agencies in the use of Live Scan fingerprinting equipment, as well as troubleshoot technical issues to ensure prints are transmitted to the Multi-Biometric Identification System (MBIS) successfully. In addition, you will provide guidance to applicants, governmental agencies, and vendors in the interpretation and application of legislative acts as they relate to fingerprint identification for employment such as Aging, Banking, Education, Hazmat, Insurance, Real ID, Welfare, and additional legislative acts as they are added.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (40-hour work week) Work hours consist of rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,161.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fingerprint Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years of experience in the identification and non-identification of individuals through fingerprint and palm print examination, comparison, and verification. Other Requirements: You must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
