DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The individual occupying this role will act as the Medium-scale Award Track Coordinator (MAT Coordinator), tasked with the development, planning, and management of the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Reducing Industrial Sector Emissions in Pennsylvania (RISE PA) grant initiative. This program is financed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Pollution Reduction Grants. The MAT Coordinator's responsibilities will align with the strategic objectives and funding stipulations set forth by both DEP and EPA, particularly those pertaining to Justice 40 and workforce development initiatives.In this capacity, the MAT Coordinator will function as a primary liaison, fostering collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to oversee the Medium-scale Award Track (MAT) within the RISE PA framework, which is designated to distribute $100 million to industrial facilities for medium-scale decarbonization projects. Eligible projects for funding under the MAT encompass a range of initiatives, including energy efficiency improvements, electrification efforts, fuel-switching, technologies aimed at reducing industrial process emissions, on-site renewable energy generation, carbon capture utilization and storage, as well as technologies designed to mitigate fugitive emissions. The MAT Coordinator will also offer technical support to applicants, assess and score project proposals, and oversee the execution of all funded projects. Additionally, this role will involve contributing to the development of the RISE PA program, conducting research tasks, collecting and analyzing program data, and compiling the Industrial Decarbonization Playbook report.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position has been approved for flexible headquarters at the below locations: Southeast Regional Office - 2 East Main St. Norristown, PA 19401 Southwest Regional Office - 400 Waterfront Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 Northwest Regional Office - 230 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335 Northcentral Regional Office - 208 W. Third St., Ste 101, Williamsport, PA 17701 Northeast Regional Office - 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 Rachel Carson State Office Building - 400 Market St. Harrisburg, PA 17106 Occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and project management. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66,250 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues, nd a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or Three years of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues and a bachelor's degree; or A master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
