The Department of General Services is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 within the Harrisburg Regional Division to perform general cleaning of offices, restrooms, and other public areas. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will maintain your assigned area through the following duties: Sweeping, mopping, or using a commercial heavy-duty scrub machine (buffer) to clean and buff floors Washing and cleaning all restroom furnishings including mirrors, toilets, urinals, partitions, walls, and sinks Replenishing restroom supplies as needed General cleaning and dusting of office furnishings, office equipment, and file cabinets Polishing furniture items such as chairs, desks, conference tables, bookshelves, and other related pieces Various window and glass cleaning Operating pallet jacks and dollies to move furniture and materials from one area to another Assisting with the removal of snow and ice from building entrances, exits, sidewalks, driveways, and stairways

You will also report discrepancies to a supervisor, such as burnt-out or blinking light bulbs, plumbing leaks, clogged drains, or any other issues. Your attentiveness is important for helping us keep spaces neat and professional. We want you on our team!

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Essential Employee - This position is required to report to work during emergencies and office closings. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
