UPMC Clinical Scheduling Manager in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
The Surgical Services Business Office department is looking for a new Clinical Scheduling Manager.
They will be responsible for the team that coordinates all of surgical scheduling for the central pa regions and will be in a dynamic environment. This manager will work with physicians, physician offices, anesthesia, nursing, and the site operational leads to optimize surgical services and provide patient care needs.

Schedule: Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, no weekends or holidays. In person position.
Pay Scale: Min-$33.90-Mid-$40.37-Max-$52.58
Purpose:
Responsible for coordinating surgical procedures and providing safe and efficient care for the patient and physicians. Collaborate daily with physicians and their office personnel, anesthesia personnel, the Surgical Services Business Office, Nurse Managers, Specialty Coordinators and Clinical Managers of the OR, and Pre-Admission Testing.

Attends Block Committee meetings in which physician utilization is discussed
Monitor department reports as assigned by the Director.
Assist the Director to provide follow up of events and issues in a timely manner.
Completes unit specific educational requirements as well as systems-related fire, safety, and emergency procedures.
Provide clinical insight to Surgical Services Business Office personnel that could impact the OR schedule.
Collaborates with Specialty Coordinators and Physician Office personnel to ensure that cases are booked appropriately
Proofreads and edits schedule prior to its approval
Collaborates with Surgical Services managers to facilitate care for patients with special needs
Communicates cancellations of surgical cases to the Pre-Admission Testing nurses, if known, prior to the close of the surgical schedule.
Facilitates inter-shift communication with regards to changes in OR schedule.
Collaborates with physician office personnel in facilitating changes in process with physician offices.
Directs OR and Surgical Services Business Office to appropriate resources to enhance OR delivery of care.
Serves as a resource person between the OR, Pre-Admission Testing, Surgical Services Business Office, and physician offices with regards to scheduling.
Promotes effective planning and utilization of the OR schedule for efficient and cost-effective delivery of quality care.
Plans future surgical schedule to ensure cases are booked appropriately.
Controls and manages overbooking of surgical cases.
Coordinates the daily operating room schedule with Clinical Manager, Specialty Coordinators, Anesthesia personnel, Surgical Services Business Office, physician offices, and Pre-Admission Testing.
Minimum of five years clinical experience (nurse, surg tech, practice manager of a surgical specialty)
OR a sound knowledge base of operations. (surgical services operations, surgical scheduling)
Must demonstrate leadership and clinical competency.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, equivalency, or candidacy preferred, but not required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
