We are seeking an individual who has a passion for working with seniors at a long term care facility. Someone who is creative, outgoing, and motivational to our customers in activities and events. A wholehearted individual whose interests lie with our customers and meeting the recreation program and service needs of each customer.

Requirements for the Assistant Director of Recreational Therapy:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.

  • Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility

  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

  • Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.

Responsibilities will include plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operations of the Recreation Therapy Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Assistant Director of Recreational Therapy will also complete required documentation, assist with planning and leadership of special events, and maintain activity department supplies and equipment.

Our established policies and procedures may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well- being of each resident. Assisting the Activity Director in the development, organization, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive therapeutic recreation services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each client.
