DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide professional work in the review, classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data for entities in the Child Nutrition Programs (CNP). This role involves reviewing financial documentation using prescribed accounting principles to assess the accountability and effective utilization of federal and state funds and assesses for compliance with regulations. This includes communicating with sponsors of CNPs to obtain documentation as well as ensuring correctness, documenting follow-up requests, and providing technical assistance as needed. You analytical and evaluative work is essential for monitoring the overall financial health of CNP and keeping our work in alignment with federal and state regulations to ensure our students healthy and ready to learn. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Staff is required to report to the worksite every Thursday, but this is subject to change depending on work requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of Bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting; or A Bachelor's Degree including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting; or One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; or One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Accounting Intern Program. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
