We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence. Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Business Unit. Location: Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry, working both continuous and conventional shifts. There are approximately 85 employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York, PA and the Maryland border. Position Overview: The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the Plant. Duties & Responsibilities: Reporting due to the Plant Accountant, the Cost Accountant's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following; Capture the plant's total cost of production by assessing the variable costs of each step of production as well as fixed cost Classify costs accurately Compiles and analyzes financial information and makes recommendations about cost efficient and financially feasible cost options Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies Track plant spoilage using appropriate methods and systems, calculate spoilage rates, and report in timely manner to identified team members Gather pertinent data for coil receiving and assist with accurately tracking coil inventory using appropriate systems Assist Plant Accountant with reports forplant consumption, performing month end close activities, etc. Assist with execution of physical inventory, from preparationto completion, including day of participation Assist the Plant Accountant with capital expenditure, spending tracking,analysis, and other reporting as assigned Participate in process improvement initiatives and other continuous improvement projects Complete A/P, A/R and payroll responsibilities as assigned Assists in preparation for internal and external audits Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Associates Degree 2 or more years plant manufacturing or warehouseexperience Solid understanding of accounting concepts, Sarbanes-OxleyCompliance and GAAP Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel and basic abilities in Access and Powerpoint Ability to work alternate schedules based on business need Preferred Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Packaging industry experience Previous AS400 experience Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands an arms, climb,and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch The team member may lift and/or move up to 30 lbs Working Conditions Generally works in an office environment but will be required to perform some job duties in a plant environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic Team member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures The noise level is frequently loud *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
