Summary About the Position: Serves as Chief, Engineering Resources Branch (ERB), Research and Engineering Division (RED), Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL), U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). This position is being filled as a Supervisory Research Interdisciplinary DB-04 (GS-12/14), which may be filled under any of the listed Job Family Series. Responsibilities Serves as Chief of the Engineering Resources Branch. Plans strategically to support and develop work in polar engineering, materials science, infrastructure, mobility, robotics, pavements, and soils. Coordinates efforts across laboratory, with laboratory leadership, and in alignment with the laboratory mission. Manages operations and personnel within the Engineering Resources Branch. Engages customers throughout work execution process, including negotiation of project terms. Transfers research technology to customers/practitioners to deliver products, software, and data, as appropriate. Performs training and mentorship to scientists, engineers, and support staff within the Engineering Resources Branch. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Influencing/Negotiating Leadership Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Strategic Thinking Technical Competence This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DB-04 (equivalent to GS-12/14). In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, an employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume.
