WHAT WE OFFER.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Assist in teaching state-mandated competencies for Health Science programs.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and provide feedback to students in clinical, lab, and classroom settings.
  • Provide individual or small group support as directed while maintaining a safe, productive learning environment.
  • Assist lead instructor with implementing plans that support student success, including accommodations and assistive technology.
  • Assist with student visits, tours, internships, clinicals, and work-based learning placements.
  • Assist with transporting students to and from offsite locations, if needed.
  • Assist with Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) leadership components and manage fundraising for student leadership opportunities.
  • Attend and assist with advisory committee meetings and administrative/staff meetings.
  • Help deliver units on employability skills and other curriculum standards.
  • Stay updated with industry standards; participate in staff development activities for curriculum improvement.
  • Assist in delivering state-approved credentials such as CNA, CMA, CPCT/A, CPT, CET, EMT.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Minimum of 1,600 hours of nursing experience in a long-term care related field.
  • Preference given to RN's with at least 2 years (4,000 hours) of recent and relevant experience in an occupation related to nursing instruction and who qualifies as a primary instructor to teach a Nurse Aide program.
  • Currently hold a Substitute Teaching Permit, or are eligible and willing to obtain a Michigan substitute teaching permit before the start of the 2024/25 school year.
  • Certified CPR Trainer, or able to obtain certification within the first year of hire if selected for this position.
  • A calm, confident approach to working with high school students that embodies clear communication skills.
  • Ability to provide hands-on support and guidance to a diverse student base with varying abilities.
  • A desire to continually increase your knowledge of teaching and an unrelenting ability to make positive change in the lives of students.
