POSITION: Operations Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
SUPERVISES: Full and Part-Time Operations Workers
FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full time working supervisory position overseeing the efforts of the housekeeping and event set up crews.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Working supervision of housekeeping and event set up staff
Oversee proper use and care of equipment
Oversee collection of data from staff for department reports
Inspects work for proper execution
Training of staff in best practices of facility cleaning and event set up to include use of cleaning chemicals, light cleaning machinery, forklift, etc.
Assists in set up, tear down and servicing of events
Responsible for attending organization and planning meetings for event-related activities
All other duties/responsibilities as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a fast paced environment requiring multi-tasking of responsibilities and overlapping deadlines. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must have the ability to walk extended distances and climb stairs. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 - 75 lbs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school diploma or G.E.D.
2-3 years supervisory experience preferred
Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including senior management
Ability to work long and irregular hours that will vary dependent upon event functions and will include day, evening, weekends and holidays
Mechanical aptitude helpful
