Job Summary:

This IT SME Functional Area Lead for Network Infrastructure position requires experience with routers and switches in an enterprise (>3000 users) network environment. Required skills include the ability to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot enterprise level router and switched networks. This includes design implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a wide area network and making connections to remote sites via the WAN. Includes basic mitigation of security threats, knowledge of wireless networking and Voice. This project operates 24x7x365 operations, day, evening, night and weekend shifts. Candidates must be willing to work shifts.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Strong communications skills (message management).

  • Participate in weekly site team lead meetings and disseminate messages to be shared with functional area employees.

  • Represent IAFNOS from a functional area perspective in daily meetings, functional area summits and ensure project and functional area messaging is communicated clearly and professionally, emphasizing a single IAFNOS team (meaning all locations, not just one) when speaking.

  • Supervise functional area team, provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, and develop and communicate each team members growth path and provide continual feedback on progress of employee’s progress toward this growth path.

  • Work with other locations to build a culture of a unified team environment.

  • Advise management on employee’s progress, or lack thereof toward the growth path defined to the employee and other observations regarding each employee’s performance.

  • Develop, coordinate and communicate shift schedules, ensure shift coverage requirements are met as well as TPI, clearance compliance per shift and ensure employees do not feel stuck on a shift.

  • Ensure that as attrition occurs that remaining employees are considered for promotion prior to communicating staffing needs to the site lead.

  • Manage timesheets and employee leave schedules.

  • Participate and encourage employee appreciation initiatives.

  • Create and maintain an environment conducive to employees feeling comfortable expressing concerns or issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides high-level subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that require extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.

  • Cisco 6500 (with Supervisor 720), 4500, 3750, 3560 switches, 37xx and 39xx Integrated Service Router, and 30xx, 31xx series blade switches for the Dell Blade server chassis, Cisco Secure Access Server (ACS).

  • Various layer 2 and 3 LAN technologies such as Spanning-tree, VLAN tagging, HSRP/GLBP, Ether-Channel/Port-channel, inter-VLAN routing, EIGRP/OSPF routing protocols, static routing, Access Control List, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 12 years of experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • F5, Load Balancers, Cisco Application Control Engineer (ACE) network load-balancers, Application Service Manager (ANM), Cisco Network Compliance Manager (NCM), Cisco Network Analysis Module (NAM-2).

  • Experience in the design, configure support and troubleshoot of Taclane (KG-175) type encryption devices.

  • Experience in a military (Air Force) environment.

Certifications Required:

  • DoD 8570 requirement IAT Level II, Security or equivalent (no exceptions)

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

  • F5 C2 Certified Technology Specialist

  • Wireshark Certified Network Analyst (WCNA)

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

Clearance:

  • Possess a DoD Secret security clearance, Top Secret security clearance preferred.
