Janicki Industries Inc. Metrology Technician - Senior (Weekend Shift) in Hamilton, Washington
Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Senior Metrology Technician to join our growing team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.
The Senior Metrology Technician is an expert who operates within the Metrology Lab as a focal for training, equipment maintenance and overflow analysis support. Additional tasks may be delegated to match the needs of production.
The following essential job functions are performed as a Senior Metrology Technician:
- Focal for data collection, equipment handling, and analysis training
- Support production analysis as needed, with a focus on building analysis skillsets in production
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Development of metrology processes with Project Engineering groups
- Develop metrology training
- Attention to detail and quality is required
- Ability to read and understand blue-prints and / or CAD models
- Performs preventive maintenance on machines including daily inspections, weekly maintenance, and annual maintenance
- Advanced Assembly Procedures, will include detailed hardware installation, plus in-process and final assembly of a wide variety of tooling, parts, and models.
- Understanding of mill gauging procedures
- Work in a quality capacity to an auditable level of consistency
- Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices
- Complies with 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
- Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function
- Knowledge of common hand tools and demonstrated mechanical capabilities
- Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required
- Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required, additional CAD-based experience is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a metrology related field
- Strong grasp of GD&T principles
- Expert in use of laser trackers and associated equipment
- Expert in use of Spatial Analyzer
- Must have general computer competency
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks for an entire shift. Must be able to sit, stand, or crouch down for extended periods. Must be able to climb ladders and work platforms. Exposed to noise, dust, dirt, and paint fumes. Must be able to work under hot and cold conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE), safety glasses and respirator will be required. Must be comfortable working within confined spaces and at various heights.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Wage range for this role is between $28 and $45 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off
