Aerotek Maintenance Supervisor in Hamilton, Ontario

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall supervision of millwrights and electricians in a unionized manufacturing environment. Your duties include ensuring employee safety, compliance with the OHSA, overseeing the efficient operation of plant equipment, and facilitating effective communication between departments. You will also be responsible for scheduling work orders, assessing employee training needs and performance, developing a capable maintenance team, and maintaining a positive union and employee relations environment. In addition, you will focus on improving the preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and improve overall maintenance costs. You will also oversee and direct plant projects, handle employee issues in accordance with the collective agreement, assist with the implementation of capital projects, and plan and implement PM’s on equipment as required.

Hard Skills

  • 442A Electrician License

  • 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Supervisor

  • Knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements

  • PLC programming experience or electrical engineering experience

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hamilton, Ontario.

Work Environment

Shift: Weekend Days - Friday to Tuesday (6am-2pm)

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000/year (dependent on experience and interview capabilities)

  • Clean, fast-paced, noisy, smells like bread/wheat.

  • You will be overseeing 10-12 individuals both millwrights and electricians.

  • The work environment promotes cooperation and you will be working with friendly coworkers.

  • PPE will be required, such as a beard net, hair net, gloves, apron, steel toe shoes/boots, protective glasses, and ear protection.
