LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Biomedical Engineer.Location: Hamilton, MT. Teleworking eligible.Job Description:The Biomedical Engineer will provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. The Biomedical Engineer will work within a team of equipment specialists ensuring reliable and safe bioresearch equipment.Duties and Responsibilities:Designs and develops biomedical equipment.Calibrates electronic pipettors, pH sensors, conductivity sensors, pressure sensors and temperature sensors in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.Coordinates the testing and analysis process.Maintain and update master service records for scientific instruments and research services equipment; Inventory and update parts lists and procurement ordering data for scientific and research equipment.Tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements.Maintain, test, calibrate and repair a wide variety of veterinary medical and biological research lab equipment, instruments and devices used across the entire RML campus. Primary equipment serviced includes steam sterilization autoclaves, rack washers, tunnel washers, labware washers, drying ovens, bottle fillers, and animal watering systems.Maintenance and repair may include chemical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, suction and pressure systems as well as water, steam, air, pressurized gases, and power supplies associated with equipment serviced.Repair mechanical equipment and mechanical assemblies using gears, shafts, and pulleys. Select proper replacement parts, modification kits, and identify materials, mechanisms, and components from a knowledge of electrical or electronic symbols, color codes, descriptions, and manufacturer's numbers.Monitors biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of scientific and research equipment to determine component condition and operation sequences are within specifications.DeliverablesInspect Equipment - WeeklyWork products and documents related to conducting preventive maintenance inspections of scientific andresearch equipment to determine component condition and operation sequences are within specifications - Ad-HocWork products and documents related to maintaining, testing, calibrating, and repairing a wide variety of veterinary medical and biological research lab equipment, instruments and devices. - Ad-HocOther related duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 3-4 years related experience including experience providing biomedical engineering support to laboratory operations in biomedical engineering or a related field.Demonstrated knowledge of biomedical regulatory requirements.Skilled in working with conventional shop equipment.Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, bend repeatedly, have correctable near vision, distinguish basic colors, and use both hands.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience working with the National Institute of Health (NIH).*This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by this position.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
