Position Summary
Strategic Adoption Managers (SAM) are responsible for owning & implementing transformation projects for large strategic accounts (businesses with annual revenues $2.5BN and more) to help these customers achieve procurement savings at scale through Amazon Business. If you want to roll up your sleeves and help shape the future of buying for business customers, this role could be the one for you!
You will lead large-scale projects to analyze, define and implement innovative solutions for our B2B customers. You will also work closely with various internal Amazon teams to relay back customer needs and requirements, incl. Sales, Product Management, Category Management, and Amazon Leadership to drive and prioritize solutions for our largest customers. You need to excel at project management being able to coordinate a large number of stakeholders, plan, organize, and manage all phases of a project (e.g. project scoping, issue handling, risk management, escalation management). The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving on behalf of Customers, has experience in working closely with senior stakeholders (C-Level), and has a proven track record of meeting and exceeding programme goals and revenue targets.
The ideal candidate becomes part of a pan-EU team and is proficient in German and English. Possible locations outside of Germany (Munich, Hamburg, Berlin) are London, Paris, Madrid, Milan and Luxembourg.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Analyze current purchasing processes for customers and evaluate opportunities for Amazon Business solutions to improve end user experiences, reduce costs, and accelerate organization performance
Drive and accelerate spend adoption through advising customers on best practices for using Amazon Business solutions
Define requirements and scope program for utilizing AB solutions
Oversee programme execution including personnel assignment, project scheduling, and timely delivery
Provide timely, clear and concise and complete communications to customer and Amazon Business Leadership
Assess program risks, anticipate challenges, and provide escalation management when necessary
Focus on automating service needs for customers and work with Product Management and Technical teams to develop solutions that will increase customer adoption
Meet or exceed targets for customer and/or feature spend adoption
Relay market needs and requirements back to internal Amazon teams including Product Management, Technical and Category Management teams
Engage with senior customer stakeholders including CPOs, CFOs & VPs
A day in the life
A typical day in SAM role begins with a team meeting and checking customer emails. During the day, one juggles between managing external and internal expectations. The day involves a lot of strategizing, brainstorming and dealing with uncertainties. In the role, you would find yourself engaging in the following activities:
Interacting with and consulting procurement leads of customer organizations to drive adoption of Amazon Business and implementing change management projects
Developing ideas and building innovative solutions along with customers and partner teams
Improvising on and setting processes inside the organization for new initiatives
Spending time with sales teams to brainstorm and strategize the plan for the sales pipeline
Get involved in strategizing and write planning documents for the quarters/year ahead
Basic Qualifications
Experience positioning and selling innovative solutions to new and existing customers and market segments
Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of procurement and source to pay processes and solutions or equivalent experience
Experience identifying trends and needs to improve an already closed large-scale technology deal
Experience in B2B or enterprise sales with a focus on hunting new business
