Prosser Farms Farmworkers-Livestock in Halma, Minnesota

Need 2 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworkers to work in Halma, MN. From: 11/01/2024 - 05/01/2025 Work: 48 hrs./week, Mon.-Sat. 8 hrs./day Worker will be paid overtime in accordance with Minnesota Statute 177, specifically 177.25 Subdivision 1 and/or 177.23 Subdivision 7(2). Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must apply by: 01/31/2025 JOB DUTIES: Weaning, vaccination programs, feeding cows, getting calves started on feed, repairing fences and waterers as needed; feeding cows, bulls, and yearlings in separate places, sorting yearlings by weight, general cattle maintenance, selling heavy steers, sorting and weighing cattle for selling, calving-checking cows for calves, tagging and vaccinating calves; moving calf cow pairs to pasture. Work requires exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, and repetitive movements. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather, livestock, or need. Rate of pay may be more depending on years of experience with the employer, or other factors such as job performance, skill, or punctuality. Drug free workplace. Employer agrees to provide to the worker, without charge, all tools, supplies and equipment. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for handling cows, heifers, calves. Must be able to obtain a drivers and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Possible post hire random drug test at no cost to worker; testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
