The Opportunity:

As an Senior Analyst specializing in Employee Benefits at HUB , you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients through detailed analysis and comprehensive reporting. You will be responsible for preparing client-facing reports such as renewals, actuarial valuations, and financial statements, as well as conducting market research and submitting specifications to insurance carriers. This position involves actively managing assigned accounts, negotiating fees and rates with carriers, and developing innovative methods to improve processes through automation and technology.

A day in the life:

  • Provide accurate and timely data for client renewal reports obtained from internal and external sources.

  • Conduct renewal analysis, negotiate fees and rates with carriers in alignment with department strategy.

  • Review client claim history data from providers, ensuring all pertinent reports are collected.

  • Review and verify financial statements for accuracy, perform quote analyses on behalf of the team.

  • Actively manage all assigned accounts, representing HUB and our values in all interactions with clients including client meetings, events, and presentations.

  • Respond to client inquiries, process amendments, and assist in marketing and implementations.

  • Handle confidential information and data, adhering to HUB’s privacy and confidentiality agreement.

  • Develop innovative methods to improve processes via automation and technology platforms.

  • Create user-friendly templates and utilize available software to simplify processes for the team.

  • Prepare data, run reports, and gather information for experience reports and renewals.

  • Maintain and update client files.

  • Coordinate with insurance carriers as required.

  • Conduct industry research on issues and trends affecting client benefits plans.

  • Assist with special projects, as required.

  • Prepare client-facing reports such as renewals, actuarial valuations, financial statements, marketing, and plan design in accordance with applicable reporting schedules and templates.

  • Conduct marketing activities including preparing and submitting specifications to insurance carriers, answering questions, reviewing and providing technical analysis and recommendations on marketing responses, and preparing marketing reports.

  • Provide strong analytical and technical support to our clients.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • 2-5 years of professional experience working within Employee Benefits.

  • Post-secondary education in the areas of mathematics, statistics, and/or actuarial studies.

  • Working toward your ASA designation is an asset.

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; with advanced competency using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, tables, and formulas.

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills (analyze, diagnose, resolve).

  • High confidence working with numbers and data, with a numerical mindset that allows you to see, analyze, and resolve issues with numbers.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under timeline pressure.

  • Ability to develop client relationships and provide superior customer service.

  • Effective time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.

  • Exceptional organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to exercise initiative and strong follow-up skills.
