Supplier Quality Engineer

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participating in bid and tender revision when required.

  • Supporting of the Procurement team in the Sourcing process with: initial risk assessments, supplier selection and approval processes based on complexity of the parts that need to be sourced.

  • Actively preparing the suppliers within Gate review processes for the successful and timely FAI and tracking outstanding actions until successful completion of shipments.

  • Assisting suppliers with inspection before ex-works, as required.

  • Developing and tracking product, process and system audits from assigned category.

  • Participating in supplier assessment and rating processes.

  • Initiating and managing Supplier Risk Management Process.

  • Assisting and interacting with the supplier on the Supplier APQP processes.

  • Tracking Supplier Corrective Action Reports and generate statistical situation based on it.

  • Reporting the status of quarantine and blocked stock to the supplier, if required.

  • Collaborating with client factories and Service Deliveries in QRQC/other investigation processes relating ambiguous non-conform products.

  • Reporting on periodic bases supplier KPIs.

  • Participation in Kaizen and Six Sigma processes, if required.

  • Supporting internal quality and production in tasks and meetings.

  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required.

    Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in a Supplier Quality role - railway would be advantage but not essential.

  • Extensive experience of working in manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of SQA processes.

  • Having working knowledge on Quality and CI tools such as: APQP; Kaizen; SixSigma.

  • Ability to work to technical drawings and specifications.

  • Able to travel worldwide and performing independent activities at suppliers.

  • Able to work and to manage supplier related activities alone.

  • Very good analytical skills.

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer literacy: SAP; MS Office; etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Commitment to working as part of a team.

  • An understanding of health and safety requirements of a working environment.

  • Lead auditor qualification and experience (IRCA certified desirable)

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering

    Hagerstown: Onsite 100%, pay rate 80K -85K/Year.
