Maintenance Planner / Logistics Supportability Analyst This position is NOT associated with physical logistics, warehousing or distribution. This position is for the performance of Product Support Analysis (PSA). PSA is performed in accordance with MIL-HDBK 502A which offers guidance on SAETA-STD-0017 for PSA and is supported by SAETA-HB-0007-1 Logistics Product Data Reports Handbook. The output of the PSA is the Logistics Product Data (LPD) which is a structured repository cataloguing the data used in or resulting from the PSA in accordance with SAE-STD-0007 supported by the SAE_GEIA-HB-0007B. The LPD is also sometimes still referred to as the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) due to its performing as the main source of data for use in logistical reporting of all kinds. The Logistic Supportability Engineer must have experience in the planning, development, implementation, and management of effective and affordable weapon system support strategies using the specifications detailed below. They will perform PSA and develop resultant LPD for DoD weapon systems and their support equipment capturing that LPD data in a relational electronic database using automated software such as Slicwave, Powerlog or other to capture and organize the data for reporting. Typical analyses performed and products developed include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance Planning and Task Analysis
  • Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD)
  • Provisioning Parts Lists (PPL)
  • Maintenance Plans (MaPl)

Maintenance experience with military aircraft and their support equipment preferred. Familiarity with DoD Operation and Maintenance technical manual content, arrangement and intended use is preferable. Experience working with referenced or similar electronic relational database software is desirable. Formal training, experience and/or certification such as a Certified Professional Logistician is desirable. Infrequent travel required to participate in logistics data related review events. Proficiency in MS Office products and ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance required.
