Eaton Corporation Lead Engineer - Power Electronics in Hadapsar, India
What you’ll do:
This position is part of Product Development team developing Power Electronics Technology and Products for Electrical Systems and Electric Transportation System. As a Practitioner, the incumbent will be responsible for understanding customer/product requirement and from there define design and development execution plan. The person will be responsible for executing development details for power converters, magnetics, analog and digital electronics circuits. The incumbent will lead the design and development, testing, technical documentation of products like DC/DC Converter, Inverter, and Battery Charger. This role also participates in system-level requirements analysis, cost estimation, design reviews and other team development processes. The person will take ownership of building innovation in circuit topologies and architecture for product differentiation. Contribution of this role will bring competitive advantage of EATON products in market.
Incumbent will be responsible for working with Engineering Manager and cross functional teams to deliver on project requirements. The person is expected to work with local and global team members located in India, U.S, Europe, China etc. Success will require deep knowledge of power electronics and analog circuitry design and keep abreast of new and emerging technologies on electrical components, packaging and materials
Qualifications:
Bachalore or Master’s Degree in power electronics/Elecrical Engineering from an accredited institution with 8+ Years of experience
'- 8 to 15 years of experience in the Power Electronics domain
Good understanding of power electronics products for various application like motor drive, UPS, charger etc.
Good understanding of electric vehicle architectures, market needs, current trends
Ability to create detail product specification and requirement analysis vis a vis cost trade off
Experience with model-based design methods and simulation- MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, & PSIM .
Experience in electronics packaging for efficient cooling
Working knowledge of communication serial data protocols (CAN, CANFD, J1939, Flex Ray) and tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CANopen, etc.)
Broad knowledge and application of Microprocessor, DSP and FPGA in motor control driving systems .
Experience with CAD software package such as SPICE, Allegro, Simplis, Ansys, Matlab/Simulink and PCB layout
Experience in high-power testing & troubleshooting
PCBA and Final Product Testing experience
Knowledge of EMC/EMI design and qualification requirement including Ansys simulation.
Power Converter topologies
Power Semiconductor devices
Inverters, PWM Techniques, Control System, Current Mode/Voltage Mode control etc.
Ability to work in a hands-on laboratory environment with common lab equipment (O-scopes, DMMs, Network and Spectrum analyzers, Dynamometers, mechanics tools, etc.)
Skills:
'1. Understand top level product requirement and create more detail requirements to meet top level product requirement
Define product architecture to meet customer / product requirement
Detail design and analysis of hardware circuit – Power Electronics, Analog Circuits, Digital Electronics, and Embedded hardware circuits
Detail design and requirement definition of high frequency transformers and inductors
Lead and conduct worst case analysis and EMI/EMC performance
Understand/Analyze business impact of every design decisions
Mentor other engineers
Create reusable platforms of hardware circuits and topologies to support product road map of EATON for profitable business growth
Lead technical discussion and design reviews with vendors and cross-function groups
Analyze new materials, components, technologies, applications and their appropriate use within our product lines
Provide technical documentation for schematic design, PCB layout, DFMEA, simulation and test results
Develop test and validation plan in accordance to industry standards and customer requirements
Provide supervision and support to internal and external design resources when appropriate
Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers and vendors
