Eaton Corporation Engineering Manager - Systems & Validation in Hadapsar, India

What you’ll do:

Provide Engineering leadership to Systems & Validation team in eMobility Inverter business within Mobility Group in EIIC. Key responsibilities include overseeing the system development, integration & validation of high-voltage inverters used in electric vehicles (EVs) and collaboration with cross-functional teams (electrical, mechanical, software) to ensure seamless integration of inverters into EV powertrains through high quliaty system engineering. The incumbent is expected to provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team that define system requirements, architecture, specifications and develop & execute validation plans. He/she is expected to build excellent rapport with hardware and software teams for seamless hand-off to achieve unified quality of system development from definition to validation with apt levels of documented changes and traceability. This role shall also take part in strategic initiatives at the organization level such as funcational excellence and imbibes principles of EATON enterprise engineering excellence.

  1. Lead a team of system & validation engineers in designing and developing high-voltage inverter systems

  2. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to EV power electronics System Engineering & Validation

  3. Be an active propenent of continuous learning & improvement in automotive systems engineering principles as embraced by OEMs & Industry forums (ex: SAE, IEEE, INCOSE)

  4. Good understanding of compliance & safety standards such as ISO 26262

  5. Manage capacity, capability and resources including people / software / hardware / lab infrastructure as part of budget planning

  6. Collaborate work with global leaders to define long term strategic objectives and establish / drive action plan to achieve the same

  7. Attract, develop and retain organizational and technical leadership talent

  8. Coach and motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals and review their accomplishments.

  9. Champion continuous capability and process improvements to support the Eaton Business System.

  10. Proven track record in engineering / R&D domain, demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals

11.Drive creativity and innovation culture in the team through encouragement of disclosures, patentability designs, technical paper publications

12.Drive the positive impact in operations metrics such as Applied Ratio, Headcount, TIMS and Kronos plan and approvals on time

  1. Assess, mentor and evaluate talents in the system per the plans and timelines set-forth by HR in various dimensions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of System & validation domain experience, preferrably in automotive domain

  • 4+ years of managing people as front line leader

Skills:

  • Proven experience in designing and validating inverters for automotive or industrial applications

  • Strong leadership skills, project management experience, and technical expertise in power electronics

  • Experience in practicing Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)

  • Proven track record on innovation

  • Experience in developing frontline organizational & technical leadership talents.
