What you’ll do:

The incumbent will be responsible to lead a team of 150+ strong multidisciplinary engineers working for Mobility Group Global Products and New Spaces. Team will be responsible for design and development of products and solutions for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. Position will be involved in working with regional business teams and OEMs customer as well as executing programs for global markets. The incumbent must be able to lead the regional team, spot opportunities and work with the frontline team to make this happen and also transfer learnings to benefit programs for global markets. Position will be responsible to drive Customer Intimacy, Frugal Innovation and Speed of Execution. The expectation from the role would be upskilling & restructuring of skills through talent strategies for hiring, development, retention and internal job rotations in line with business strategic priorities. This needs close understanding of the business priorities, customer pursuits and readjusting the organization tactfully and strategically. Role involves global leadership responsibilities to influence engineering footprint decisions allowing Eaton global to operate out of a different cost base in medium-long term. Lead strategy development, driving transition program and related manufacturing co-ordination. The leader is responsible to identify new spaces domain through "Right to Play" and "Right to Win" studies while working with global techno-commercial teams and technology development experts. Role is expected to incubate product preceding technologies and mature it to new spaces as part of creating new product and offerings for global Mobility Group portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

At Eaton India Innovation Center - Mobility Group Engineering organization is looking for Engineering leader, who will lead Mobility Group transformation and grow into new and untapped opportunities for business strategy. This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. The role has to step up to provide leadership and guidance on several Mobility Group strategies, also Partner with Global leadership to build strategy around future road map of Mobility Group:

  • Responsible to work with senior leadership to define long term strategic objectives and establish / drive action plan to achieve the same

  • Responsible to come-up with strong techno-commercial proposals to shape new spaces theme from concept to strong pursuits pipeline

  • Annual budget planning, optimization, governance and execution of assigned budget control tasks

  • Program financial planning, execution and control to achieve healthy business case throughout life of program

  • Manage capacity, capability and resources including people / software / hardware / lab infrastructure as part of budget planning

  • Attract, develop and retain organizational and technical leadership talent

  • Coach and motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals and review their accomplishments

  • Champion continuous capability and process improvements to support the Eaton Business System

  • Thorough understanding of Digital Design, Design for Six Sigma and Stage Gate Product Development Process

  • Proven track record in engineering / R&D domain, Demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals

  • Partner with business teams to identify market opportunities, design and launch new products catering to the needs of OEM customers

  • Speed, innovation, working with customers, acting like a local player, building business case and then converting full product life cycle

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive engineering with proven track record for techno-commercial leadership in multi-disciplinary areas of Vehicle market. Experience in Vehicle Electrification domain will be preferred

  • 20+ years of industry experience in multinational organization with demonstrated ability to influence global and cross functional organization while working with OEM customers

  • In depth understanding of Market and Regulatory trends in Vehicle domain

  • Expertise in handling New Product & Technology Development leveraging stage gate approach

  • Experience in developing senior organizational & technical leadership talents

  • Demonstrated leadership in creating strong techno-commercial proposals
