Job Description:

The Electrical Controls Engineer helps design and implement various control systems on various complex TOPS products.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Electrical schematic design.

• PLC and HMI design .

• Motion control design and configuration, including servo motor/drive selection and tuning using PMAC.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Practical design and implementation experience in any combination of the following with an emphasis on motion control:

• Hardware design using CAD (Solidworks, Autocad etc.).

• Industrial control system design.

• PLC Programming.

• Demonstrated track record of developing products that meet market requirements and are manufacturable and field supportable.

• Critical thinking problem solver capable of leading by example.

• Strong understanding of how engineering efforts impact the overall business; grasps assignment of engineering projects based on business needs.

• High level of analytical ability and application of problem solving tool set to complex engineering requirements.

• Ability to work live on machines for development, testing and validation of control system software.

• Oral and written communication skills in English.

Education/Experience and/or Training:

• BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics preferred.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in any of the following – industrial controls design and implementation, CNC motion controls design, robotics motion controls design, automation controls design.
