Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair machinery equipment and physical structures in the facility
Perform regular preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Maintain records of work performed, parts used, and time spent
Maintain clean and orderly workspaces
Communicate needs with shop supervisor
Submit purchase orders to the purchasing team
Assist employees as directed by the shop supervisor
Support the shop operations including the welding and fabrication teams
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints
Experience working in an industrial metal manufacturing environment
Physical strength to operate machinery
Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Diligence and attention to detail
Strong commitment to safety
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Experience with propane forktrucks, overhead and jib cranes, waterjet/lasers, brake press, shears, saws, lathes, CNCs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems

Work Environment
Work in a machine shop environment with a mix of older and newer machinery. The company specializes in building industrial boiler systems, tanks, and milling machines. The facility includes a small machining department (5-6 CNC machines, some manual machines), a welding department, and a forming/press department. This is a middle-sized, family-owned company with an 'old school' charm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
