Scope of position: Supply Chain Analytics (SCA) serves a trusted advisor to businesses to make sense of internal and external data on supply chain performance, macroeconomic changes, global and local trends so that businesses can develop more robust strategies for creating value, identifying business opportunities and pursuing growth. We leverage on our extensive supply chain expertise, advanced analytical skills, and tools to produce actionable insights. Our mission is to empower businesses to make strategic, impactful decisions that drive success and growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the economic and commodity markets, generate insights through robust analysis of the latest price/market developments and recommend steps to leverage opportunities for a pool of procurement categories.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the industry.

  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and economic indicators to provide strategic insights.

  • Develop market intelligence reports and present findings to senior management.

  • Supplier Evaluation:

  • Assess and monitor the financial health, performance, and capabilities of suppliers.

  • Utilize various tools and methodologies, such as Rapid Ratings and D&B SER Ratings, to evaluate supplier risk.

  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights related to market and supplier performance.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

  • Provide regular reports and presentations to business and supply chain leadership team.

  • Strategic Sourcing Support:

  • Collaborate with category teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies based on market and supplier intelligence.

  • Support supplier negotiation and contract management processes with data-driven insights.

  • Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

Required Skills

  • Has over 7 years of Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Market Analysis experience with commodity-focused company, industrial company, price reporting agency or consulting firm

  • Demonstrated deep understanding within the commodities, economics and procurement space.

  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, depth analysis of complex information to formulate market insights and forecasts for a range of direct/indirect procurement categories (E.g. Lithium, tin, energy, inflation, capital equipment, MRO etc.)

  • Well connected with external commodity and economic market data providers such as IHS, S&P Platts, Fastmarket, Argus etc.

  • Ability to digest and translate data to drive business decisions.

  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication with stakeholders, organization, time management and problem-solving skills

  • Meticulous and attention to details

  • Advanced knowledge of Office products - office 365, MS Excel, PowerBI, MS Access, Sharepoint

  • Comfortable dealing with huge datasets. Ability to generate insights from a myriad of news sources and data sets would be highly valued.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.

Desired Skills

  1. Global experience (e.g. works in a cross cultural environment, business practices, etc.)

  2. Bachelor degree and above

  3. Experience in building and refining product cost models, forecast models

  4. Knowledge of economic and financial markets

  5. Other languages will be an added advantage (Mandarin and etc)

  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
