What is Aladdin and your team in Aladdin Engineering ?

You will be working on BlackRock's investment operating system Aladdin. Aladdin is used both internally and externally by many financial institutions. Aladdin combines sophisticated risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading and operations tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making and create a connective tissue for thousands of users investing worldwide.

Our development team “Aladdin Channels and Experience” sit inside Aladdin Engineering. Our products are the front door to Aladdin, the journey to all Aladdin application begins from Aladdin Hub (aka Aladdin Client Sites) and Genie which is a launching tool for hundreds of applications that are part of Aladdin Investment Operating System.

To achieve our goal, we work closely with other teams, including UX, Enterprise Architecture, SRE, InfoSec, application development teams or even external vendors, to name a few.

Qualifications:

• Passionate about building quality software and scaling technology to meet the needs of tomorrow.

• 2+ years of full stack development, including experience in Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS/React and/or Angular. Good to have knowledge of a CMS like Teamsite, WordPress etc.

• Experience working with an agile/scrum team.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presents ideas in a clear, concise, and constructive manner to a diverse audience.

• An ability to translate real business problems into technical solutions.

• A track record of forging strong relationships and building trusted partnerships through open dialogue and continuous delivery.

• Conducts performance monitoring, capacity planning, workload modelling and predictive analyses to identify and resolve potential issues.

• Planning and administering web systems hardware and operating system server software, while maintaining and monitoring website functionality and website security.

• Good to have knowledge of: Azure DevOps, CICD pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on coding using Java and React/TypeScript/ /CSS/HTML5 (front end)

• Develop and maintain Aladdin Client Sites that will reshape client front door experience.

• Help redesign and build the next generation of our websites using a new CMS like Adobe Experience Manager

• Build web component libraries, templates, and client-side applications that will be deployed across a wide range of platforms and environments.

• Contribute to an agile development team working with product and design teams.

• Apply quality software engineering practices through all phases of development and into production.

• Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-time zone environment.

• Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression and user acceptance testing, dev ops and level two production support.

Our hybrid work model
