Description

We are seeking an Inventory Clerk for our client based in Gulfport, Mississippi. In this role, you will be tasked with an array of responsibilities that include the processing of invoices and vouchers, data entry tasks, and providing support to the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) departments. This is a short-term contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the processing of vendor invoices and disbursement filing

• Aid in the reconciliation of G/L accounts and contribute to the month-end closing process

• Conduct data entry tasks with precision and efficiency

• Assist in the administration and management of accounts receivable, including daily invoice processing and cash receipt application

• Carry out corrections on transaction documents, when necessary, which may involve revising other documents or entries

• Classify expenditure codes and accounting codes during document coding

• Generate statements and reports by utilizing a variety of sources

• Manually post financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, or use electronic equipment when necessary

• Resolve discrepancies by investigating potential sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and understanding the effect on other accounts

• Provide support in budgetary control by monitoring budgets and initiating or verifying adjustments and transfers

• Participate in special projects as assigned and perform other related duties

Requirements

• Proficiency in inventory management, with a keen understanding of maintaining adequate inventory levels to meet business needs

• In-depth knowledge of inventory accounting principles and practices

• Expertise in inventory analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement

• Experience in conducting inventory audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas to manage and analyze inventory data
