Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Guilford, Connecticut. This role will be a short-term contract employment opportunity where you will be responsible for various accounting functions such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger reconciliations, month-end close and budgeting. This role will also require proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Conduct regular Bank Reconciliations to ensure all transactions are reflected correctly.

• Maintain the General Ledger and perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.

• Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is recorded timely and accurately.

• Participate in budgeting processes and provide input on financial planning.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to perform various data analysis tasks, using features such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

• Perform Account Reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Conduct Journal Entries as required for accurate accounting.

• Carry out Monthly Bank Reconciliation to confirm all transactions align with bank statements.

• Utilize your skills in budgeting to assist in financial planning and strategy.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Demonstrated ability to perform Month End Close procedures

• Experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation

• Proficiency in using VLOOKUP function in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with budgeting processes and procedures

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have legal right to work in the United States
