As a Buyer II at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a world-class organization that is dedicated to enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. We are looking for an individual who consistently demonstrates strong implementation skills in material supply processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review backorder-report regularly to avoid excess shipment and ensure on-time delivery.

  • Develop and maintain material supply process and procedure, focusing on continual improvement.

  • Monitor material order processing status and follow up with on-time delivery.

  • Track and evaluate suppliers' performance (OTD, quality, service, etc.) and prepare periodic reports.

  • Support warehousing and storage management to achieve optimal logistics.

  • Coordinate with production planner to ensure material supply is in sync with production planning.

  • Provide recommendations or solutions to material supply related problems.

  • Improve supply activities and find ways to enhance efficiency.

  • Coordinate with the production team on material transportation and import process.

  • Review current stock status and sales history to determine safety stock levels.

  • Place orders as per EDI report and assist in the redeployment of inventory from other countries.

  • Provide inventory holding by warehouse and review movement in obsolescence with Finance.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Supplier On-Time Delivery statistic and reporting.

  • University degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar fields.

  • At least 3 years of equivalent experience in purchasing, logistics, or purchasing, preferably in the instrument industry.

  • Working experience in multinational companies is highly preferred. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles is a plus.

  • Familiarity with material or production planning, inventory control, MRP concept, and logistic activities and processes.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills based on rational thinking.

  • Experience in operating ERP systems, knowledge of SAP system is desirable.

  • Good command of verbal and written English.

  • Honest, hardworking, and sense of responsibility.
