Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Paint.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary

Manufacturing Engineer in charge of Paint Line, develop and maintain paint process, equipment specifications and maintenance, Lean Manufacturing, EHS initiatives, product and quality cost improvements. Increase the overall productivity of the area and the profitability of the business through the definition, evaluation and optimization of manufacturing projects and processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Will be the Manufacturing Engineer expert responsible for Paint Line with powder coating technology.

• Determine manufacturing methods, machinery and line loading tools to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. Plan all tooling such as jigs, fixtures, special tools, and similar items.

• Develop work instructions for the powder coating line. Manage and operate all coating equipment including guns, tanks, hoppers and booth collection system.

• Support in the definition of maintenance and cleaning procedures.

• Safety responsibilities include safety and housekeeping objectives; follow all safety rules and procedures and report unsafe conditions to line management.

• Evaluate existing machinery, fabrication equipment, tooling, etc. for safety, capacity, capability, effectiveness, etc. Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and manage capital projects.

• Outline the required workflow and material handling devices including storage areas, work areas, and workplace layout. Prepare complete operation line-ups to manufacture all parts for a product line or for a section. Provide training, guidance and technical support to leaders, operators and team members.

• Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines.

• Estimate the time required manufacturing all parts for a product line. Actively reduce current standard times.

• Work closely with cross-functional resources to execute projects - Information Technology, Operational Excellence, Production, Quality, Facilities.

• Work in the installation, commissioning, inspection, repair and maintenance of paint line systems and equipment.

• Develop continuous improvement ideas to improve the quality, performance and productivity of the business.

• Contribute to the deployment of robust manufacturing processes that assure high quality products.

• Contribute to the accreditation of the plant under the ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications:

Education level required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Years and area of experience required

• Minimum of five years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering position for Paint Lines with powder coating process.

Skills:

Technical knowledge

• Knowledge of powder coating manufacturing process and related systems

• Demonstrated understanding of multiple facets of Paint process technologies including:

-Cleaning and pre-treatment.

-Powder coating process and technologies

-Strong knowledge of material substrates and their specific coating requirements

-Strong knowledge of chemical properties and controls relating to the Paint process

• Knowledge of water treatment and reverse osmosis

• Knowledge of tooling handling and paint cleaning technologies

• Knowledge of paint line maintenance

• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (desired)

• Fluent in English

• Proficient in MS Office toolset
